Providence

If I never believed in it before, I guess I would have to after this weekend.

Last week I told Nigel about the blog post that was titled You’re Probably a Presbyterian if… and one of the comments that listed 10 Reasons Why I’m a Calvinist. They were mostly funny things but the last one was “Because I didn’t have any choice in the matter”. I was laughing at it, but after I thought about it, I was like that’s probably true. We got to talking a little bit about Predestination vs. Free Will. Nothing heavy, we were just on the way to Jamba Juice.

Then in church this weekend we talked about Free Will. Go figure. That’s all I have for today.

What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.
